Central Cracks Top 5 in this Week's Division III Coaches' Poll

No. 3 Wheaton’s (Ill.) loss to then-No. 12 North Central (Ill.) paved the way for Central (Iowa) to move into the top five in this week’s AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll. Mount Union remains No. 1 after collecting 39 of 40 first place votes this week. Wisconsin-Whitewater remains No. 2 and garnered the remaining first place vote. Wesley (Del.) and St. John’s (Minn.) move up one spot to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively while the Dutch move up one spot to No. 5.

Wheaton tumbled from third to No. 14 while North Central moved up to No. 9 on the strength of its 27-7 victory. Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) is the lone newcomer in the rankings this week, sharing the No. 23 spot with Occidental (Calif.)
