The 2009 regular season of NJCAA football is officially in the books and Fort Scott (Kansas) has emerged with the No. 1 ranking in the final NJCAA / JC Football.com Rankings. The Greyhounds defeated previously seventh-ranked and defending national champion Butler (Kan.) for the second time in two weeks with a 13-12 victory Sunday to win the Region 6 title for the first time in school history.

Navarro (Texas), the No. 1 team for the past two weeks, fell to No. 3 Blinn (Texas) 45-34 in the Southwest JC Football Conference Championship Game on Sunday. The win vaults Blinn to No. 2 in the poll.

Grand Rapids (Mich.), Navarro, East Mississippi, Arizona Western, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Snow (Utah), Central Lakes (Minn.) and Butler (Kan.) round out the top 10 spots in the final poll of the regular season.

By NJCAA rules, bowl selections and announcements can not be made until Nov. 17 at 12 p.m. (Central). Once selections are made and forwarded to the NJCAA National Office, selections for each game will be posted on the NJCAA Bowl Games website.

The next NJCAA / JC Football.com Top 20 Poll will be released on Dec. 7, 2009, which will be the championship poll for 2009.
