Wisconsin-Whitewater Tops Final 2009 Division III Coaches' Poll

Wisconsin-Whitewater ends the 2009 season as the No. 1 team in the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll. Thw Warhawks completed its run to the national championship with a 38-28 win over defending champion Mount Union in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl on Saturday. The title is the second for the school in the last three years.

Mount Union finishes at No. 2 followed by national semifinalists Linfield and Wesley at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. St. Thomas (Minn.) rounds out the top five.
