Mount Union Tops First Division III Coaches' Poll for 2013

With a brand new coach at the helm in Vince Kehres, last year’s Division III champions Mount Union (Ohio) haven’t missed a step. The Purple Raiders have started off their 2013 campaign with two impressive wins, including a hard-fought 30-27 victory over No. 20 Franklin (Ind.) on Sept. 7. Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) took care of business against No. 14 Wesley (Del.) over the weekend, winning 35-7, to snatch four of the 42 first place votes away for Mount Union and take the No. 2 spot. Linfield (Ore.), North Central (Ill.) and Hobart (N.Y.) all had victories to round out the top five of the first poll.
