Hardin-Simmons Makes Splash in Coaches' Poll

Homefield advantage proved to be a huge boost as Hardin-Simmons (Texas) prevailed in a close-fought game against perennial powerhouse Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas), 29-26. The No. 7 Cowboys are at their highest rank in the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll since November 18, 2008, and look primed to finish their season strong at the top of the American Southwest Conference standings.

With the end of the regular season in sight, several conferences are still up for grabs. No. 22 Illinois Wesleyan will be looking to take a piece of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin crown from No. 4 Wheaton (Ill.) as the Thunder visit them this weekend. No. 12 Thomas More (Ky.) will be playing for sole ownership of the President’s Athletic Conference title against Case Western Reserve (Ohio).
