Lindsey Jacob of Springfield, Ore., is Headed to Nashville for VIP Experience at American Football Coaches Awards
WACO, Texas (Jan. 4, 2017) – The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced today that Lindsey Jacob of Springfield, Ore., has won the grand prize of the AFCA’s “Meet Us in Music City Sweepstakes”.
Jacob was randomly selected from more than 30,000 entries and will receive VIP access for two (2) to attend the nationally televised American Football Coaches Awards in Nashville, Tenn., on Jan. 10 and meet some of the country’s top college football coaches.
In addition, Jacob and her guest will participate in several private events and walk the football-theme “green” carpet prior to the live one-hour broadcast on CBS Sports Network (9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST).
“I thought it would be fun to go but I never expected to win,” said Jacob, a University of Oregon Ducks fan. “This will be an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget. I’m looking forward to meeting some amazing coaches and seeing the beautiful city of Nashville.”
Featured awards during the show include the AFCA FBS National Coach of the Year and special 30th anniversary presentation of the AFCA Coaches’ Trophy, which will be presented to the No. 1 ranked team – and national champion – in the Amway Coaches Poll. Other prominent awards to be given out include the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award, FCS National Coach of the Year, USA TODAY Sports Coach’s Play Call of the Year and Comeback Coach of the Year.
“For the first time in our 96-year history, we elected to televise these prestigious awards to the public so fans could see coaches in a different light and help us celebrate their accomplishments from this past season,” said AFCA Executive Director Todd Berry. “It only seemed fitting that we would have two special fans be part of the festivities.”
