ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UP SEVEN PLACES AFTER TOP 5 UPSET OF WHEATON

Illinois Wesleyan scored the game-winning touchdown against conference rival and then-No. 4 Wheaton (Ill.) with six seconds left in the game to claim the 14-10 upset victory. The win moved the Titans up to No. 14 in the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll and dropped the Thunder 14 spots to No. 18. Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) still holds the top spot, followed by Mount Union (Ohio),
Wisconsin-Oshkosh, North Central (Ill.) and Hardin-Simmons (Tex.).

There will be five Top 25 matchups this coming weekend with the biggest being a Top 5 showdown as No. 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor travels to No. 5 Hardin-Simmons in a battle for the top spot in the American Southwest Conference. The other matchups see No. 2 Mount Union traveling to No. 22 Heidelberg (Ohio), No. 6 St. Thomas (Minn.) hosting No. 15 Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.), No. 7 Delaware Valley (Pa.) traveling to No. 24 Albright (Pa.) and No. 9 Frostburg State (Md.) hosting No. 20 Wesley (Del.).
