WACO, TEX.– Colorado State-Pueblo upset then-No. 8 Colorado Mesa, 30-24, and jumped up three spots to No. 14 in this week’s AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The loss dropped Colorado Mesa 13 places to No. 21. Northwest Missouri State still sits at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Texas A&M-Commerce, No. 3 Shepherd (W.Va.), No. 4 Indiana (Pa.) and new No. 5 Minnesota State.
Two new teams entered the Top 25 this week with Southeastern Oklahoma State coming in at No. 23 and West Georgia re-entering the poll after a two-week layoff at No. 25. This is the first time Southeastern Oklahoma State has been ranked since September 4, 2007.
There are four Top 25 matchups this week with one being a Top 10 contest. No. 2 Texas A&M-Commerce travels to No. 10 Midwestern State (Texas) in a key Lone Star Conference battle. The other Top 25 matchups have No. 4 Indiana (Pa.) hosting No. 16 California (Pa.), No. 22 Winona State (Minn.) traveling to No. 6 Sioux Falls (S.D.) and No. 13 Central Washington playing host to No. 17 Humboldt State (Calif.).
