
2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team & Wuerffel Trophy Nominations Now Open

The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the Wuerffel Foundation and Allstate are beginning the nomination process for the 34th annual Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® and the 21st Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recipient.
This year, we are depending on you to nominate one deserving student-athlete from your school who is worthy of this prestigious award and the extraordinary recognition opportunities that come with it.
Below, please find a brief explanation of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and Allstate Wuerffel Trophy programs and instructions for nominating your candidate by Friday, June 6th, 2025.
NOMINATION PROCESS

Purpose
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team is comprised of 22 college football student-athletes and one honorary head coach who make outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement, 11 of which are FBS players. These individuals embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back through commendable acts of kindness. The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy is presented to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field.
Goal
The goal of this program is to provide recognition for these future community leaders, their teams, their academic institutions and the communities they support.
Overview
The 22 student-athletes and honorary head coach named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be selected from nominations submitted by their SIDs. From the nominations, an esteemed voting panel comprised of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team members, former college football coaches, college football media, members of The Wuerffel Foundation, and Allstate will select 11 players from the Football Bowl Subdivision, 11 players from the Football Championship Subdivision, Divisions II, III and the NAIA and one honorary head coach. The final team will be announced in September. From there, the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy National Selection Committee will select the 3 Finalists for the award and then 1 Recipient. The 11 FBS members of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will serve as the Semifinalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy. The Recipient of the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy will serve as the Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
Recognition
This season, the AFCA, Allstate and The Wuerffel Foundation will work to ensure members of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team receive proper acknowledgement for their selfless deeds.

- Social media content
- Recognition at the Allstate Sugar Bowl® in New Orleans
- The Home Depot College Football Awards Show
- NIL Compensation empowering students to continue their good work
- Donation to charity of choice for the Recipient of the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy
Criteria for Nomination – Student-Athlete
Although there may be exceptions, it is suggested that 2025 student-athlete nominees be:
- An upcoming junior or senior for the 2025 season.
- A player who has made significant on and off the field contributions to his team.
- Demonstrates outstanding character and dedication in the classroom that makes them candidates for graduation.
- A player who has made a commitment to volunteerism by donating time and energy to serve others.
- Free of any felony charges or criminal activity.
- Has not been a previous member of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team or an AllstateWuerffel Trophy Recipient.
Most importantly, candidates should be actively involved with charitable organizations, service groups and/or exhibit extraordinary devotion to a personal cause in their lives. They should display sincere concern, reliability and make a favorable impact on the organization or activity in which they are involved.
Photo Release
On the NCFAA Vault Nomination Form, you will be prompted to agree to a Photo License and Release statement. Please read the below in full before submitting your nomination.
LICENSE & RELEASE
By initialing on the Nomination Form, I represent and warrant that:
The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), The Wuerffel Foundation, and Allstate Insurance Company (“Allstate”) (collectively “Licensee”) are granted a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use (1) any photos/videos I provided along with this nomination form and the name of the institution that the student-athlete nominee attends, along with its logos, trademarks, and official apparel (“Licensed IP”) and (2) the name, image, and/or likeness of the student-athlete nominee, in any marketing/promotional materials related to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, in any format or media so chosen by Licensee, should the student-athlete nominee be selected to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team; and
On behalf of the institution listed in this nomination form, I have the right and authority to license or sublicense the Licensed IP to Licensee for the above-referenced purpose and warrant that neither the Licensed IP or Licensee’s use of the Licensed IP, infringes, violates, or misappropriates the rights of any third party. Institution shall indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Licensee, its affiliates, and its respective employees and agents from and against all claims, losses, liabilities, demands, complaints, actions, lawsuits, findings, determinations, damages, fees, judgments, settlements, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees) that arise out of or in connection with the above-described use of the Licensed IP and the name, image, and/or likeness of the student-athlete nominee.
