Carter St. John: Alma College Quarterback Leading On and Off the Field
October 10, 2025
Leadership, service, and excellence are three words that define Carter St. John, senior quarterback at Alma College and a proud member of the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
A three-time First Team All-MIAA selection and record-breaking leader for Alma’s nationally ranked football program, St. John has helped guide the Scots to back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and the deepest playoff run in school history. His impact, however, reaches far beyond the gridiron.
Founding QBs vs. Cancer
In 2023, St. John launched QBs vs. Cancer, a nonprofit organization uniting college quarterbacks across the country to raise funds for cancer research and patient care. Through youth quarterback training sessions and community events, the initiative has already grown to include more than 40 quarterbacks nationwide and has raised over $12,500 to support cancer charities.
Giving Back to the Community
Beyond his national efforts, St. John remains deeply involved in his local community. He volunteers with Special Olympics, mentors young athletes, and uses his platform to encourage others to lead with purpose. Whether he’s commanding the huddle or organizing a fundraiser, his dedication to serving others continues to inspire those around him.
Embodiment of the Student-Athlete Ideal
St. John exemplifies what it means to be a true student-athlete, excelling in competition while making a meaningful impact off the field. His commitment to leadership, service, and integrity has made him a role model not just for Alma College but for the college football community as a whole.
