Emporia State Uses Upset to Jump Into Top 25

The Emporia State (Kan.) defense allowed only one third down conversion on 20 attempts and held Angelo State (Tex.) to just four field goals in their 17-12 victory. The win moved the Hornets into the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl, at No. 21 while the Rams dropped out. Emporia State, now 2-0 on the season, will travel to No. 4 Pittsburg State (Kan.) for a big top 25 matchup in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
Harding (Ark.) blanked Southern Nazarene (Okla.), 59-0, and still sits No. 1. Central Missouri had no problems with Northeastern State (Okla.), 63-21 and remains No. 2. Ferris State (Mich.) dropped four places to No. 7, mostly due to the Bulldogs week zero loss to Pittsburg State, who is now No. 4. Grand Valley State (Mich.) moves to No. 3 and Colorado School of Mines stays at No. 5.
