
Miami Beats Rival Florida State

The No. 3 Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes visited Doak Campbell Stadium and held the nation’s best scoring offense without a touchdown for the first three quarters, beating rival Florida State, 28-22. It was the first time since 2016 that both teams were ranked in their heated rivalry. The Hurricane’s remain at No. 3 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll while Florida State drops out of the top 25.
The top five remained the same this week with Ohio State and Oregon at 1 and 2 and Mississippi and Texas A&M at 4 and 5. The change starts at No. 6 on down thanks to upset losses by Penn State and Texas. The Nittany Lions lost to UCLA, 42-37, and fell from No. 6 to No. 22, while Texas lost to Florida and dropped from No. 7 to No. 19. Those losses allowed Alabama to re-enter the top 10 at No. 8 and Texas Tech to join at No. 10.
