
Ohio State Wins 1 vs. 2 Battle

In a game that was dominated by great defensive play, it was Ohio State’s offense that finally broke free. The No. 2 Buckeyes had a 7-0 lead through three quarters against No. 1 Texas before Carnell Tate caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Julian Sayin to break the game open. Ohio State would go on to win the 1 vs. 2 matchup, 14-7, and jumped to No. 1 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll. The loss dropped Texas to No. 6.
Penn State moves up a spot to No. 2 after their 46-11 win over Nevada. The Nittany Lions are followed Georgia, LSU and Oregon in the top five. The LSU Tigers had the biggest jump, up five spots after their 17-10 win over previous No. 6 Clemson. Those Tigers are now ranked No. 8.
