Missouri bounces back with dominant win
October 4, 2026
One week after losing their first game of the season, the Missouri Tigers rebounded in a big way, beating then-No. 8 Florida, 45-17, and jumping up to No. 16 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll. The 28-point margin of victory was its largest over a top 10 team in program history. It was also Mizzou’s first win over a top 10 team at home since they beat No. 3 Oklahoma in 2010. The loss dropped the Gators to No. 15.
The top seven teams remained the same this week with Texas still on top. Pitt came from behind to beat Virgina Tech in Blacksburg, 35-33, and jumped into the top 25 at No. 24, as did Kentucky, who rallied to beat South Carolina in overtime, 35-34, and enters the poll at No. 25.
