
AFCA Coaches Trophy Tour Presented by US LBM: Week 2 Recap from Lexington

The AFCA Coaches Trophy Tour presented by US LBM rolled into Lexington for Week 2, and it was another unforgettable weekend celebrating college football.
Media Momentum
The weekend kicked off strong with multiple in-market broadcast and news features highlighting the trophy’s arrival in town:
- FOX56 Morning Show
- BBN Tonight on Lex18 (NBC Affiliate)
- National of Blue Pre-Game Display Promotion
- Chat Sports Pre-Game Display Promotion
These appearances built excitement across the Bluegrass and set the stage for a special game day.
On Campus with the Crystal Football
Fans, students, and faculty had the chance to get up close with the iconic crystal football during more than five hours of display time on campus. Stops included:
- Alumni Commons
- Department of Engineering
From selfies to group shots, the trophy became a centerpiece of pride and tradition for the Wildcat community.
Game Day Spotlight
Former Kentucky quarterback and football legend Tim Couch joined the tour for an hour-long appearance, adding star power to the festivities.
From there, the trophy moved to the sidelines for a special photo op with Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops, US LBM President and Chief Executive Officer LT Gibson and AFCA Executive Director Craig Bohl a true highlight of the weekend.
The celebration wrapped with a Jumbotron and PA announcement, thanking the coaches and fans for welcoming the Coaches Trophy to Lexington in style.
