August 14, 2025
AFCA Executive Director Craig Bohl recently visited Buffalo Bills practice and the University at Buffalo to reconnect with former players and colleagues while discussing the broader state of college football.
Bohl coached Bills’ starting quarterback Josh Allen at the University of Wyoming and shared his perspective on the quarterback’s growth:
“My instincts told me there was greatness to him, and it was going to take a little bit to develop, but he certainly did.”
Josh Allen then credited Bohl’s guidance with shaping his career, which will earn him induction into the Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame in September:
“Without Coach Bohl or the University of Wyoming, I wouldn’t be here without them. It’s very cool to be honored by a place so near to my heart.”
Beyond their personal connection, Allen highlighted Bohl’s broader contributions to the sport:
“He’s doing a lot of good things for college football right now. He’s an awesome human being.”
Bohl’s leadership as AFCA Executive Director continues to focus on supporting coaches and players and promoting the game at all levels.
Additionally, Bohl met with University at Buffalo head coach Pete Lembo and athletic director Mark Alnutt. Together, they discussed challenges and opportunities in college football and strategies for helping the game grow. These conversations underscore the AFCA’s commitment to the game.
