Coach Clark shares the unique path that led him into the coaching profession, including the bold decision to move overseas and coach football in Italy early in his career. He reflects on the lessons learned as a young head coach, how limited resources sharpened his teaching philosophy, and what it was like explaining that leap of faith to his family. From there, he discusses returning to his alma mater, earning an opportunity at the University of Maine, and navigating the responsibilities and staff dynamics that come with a first full-time position in college football.
Clark also walks through how his time at Columbia Football and now Dartmouth helped shape his approach to developing offensive linemen and building successful programs in the Ivy League. He offers insight into what it takes to win in that league, how to earn respect within a staff, and why embracing entry-level roles can accelerate long-term growth.
